Compost is valued because it: Enriches the soil with natural nutrients Improves soil texture and moisture retention Increases beneficial microbial activity Makes plants stronger and more resilient It is one of the most important natural boosters for garden and crop health. — 🌿 Planting Instructions Using Compost 1. Preparing the Soil Loosen the garden soil with a fork or spade. Mix in 2–5 cm of compost into the topsoil for general planting. For poorer soils, you can mix in up to 10 cm of compost. 2. Planting Seeds Smooth the soil surface after mixing compost. Plant seeds according to depth instructions on the packet. Water gently to avoid washing seeds away. 3. Planting Seedlings / Transplants Dig a hole slightly bigger than the plant’s root ball. Mix some compost with the soil at the bottom of the hole. Place the plant inside and fill around it with a soil–compost mix. Firm gently and water well. 4. Compost for Pots Compost alone is too heavy for containers. Mix 1 part compost with 2 parts potting soil for best results. 5. Mulching Spread 2–3 cm of compost on top of the soil around plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds. — 🌼 What Compost Is Used For 🌿 1. Soil Enrichment Improves nutrient content, helping plants grow stronger and healthier. 🌱 2. Planting and Transplanting Used when planting vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, and seedlings. 🌾 3. Garden Beds & Vegetable Patches Boosts fertility and improves yields for crops like tomatoes, spinach, beans, herbs, and more. 🌺 4.
