Potting soil

Potting Soil – Description Potting soil (also called potting mix) is a light, nutrient-rich growing medium specially formulated for plants grown in pots, containers, seed trays, and grow bags. Unlike garden soil, potting soil is airy and well-draining, allowing roots to breathe while still holding enough moisture for healthy growth. Most potting mixes contain a blend of: Compost or organic matter Peat moss or coco peat (for moisture retention) Perlite or vermiculite (for aeration and drainage) Sand or bark (to improve structure) Added fertilizers (for nutrients) This combination creates an ideal environment for strong root development and vigorous plant growth. —

🌱 Potting Soil – Description Potting soil (also called potting mix) is a light, nutrient-rich growing medium specially formulated for plants grown in pots, containers, seed trays, and grow bags. — 🌿 Planting Instructions Using Potting Soil 1. Prepare the Container Choose a pot or container with good drainage holes. Add a layer of stones or coarse material if needed to help drainage. 2. Fill with Potting Soil Fill the pot about ¾ full with potting mix. Lightly tap the pot to settle the soil—do not compact it. 3. Planting Seeds or Seedlings For seeds: Make shallow grooves or small holes according to the seed packet instructions. Place seeds in the soil and lightly cover with a thin layer of potting mix. For seedlings/plants: Make a hole deep enough for the root ball. Place the plant inside and gently firm the soil around the stem. 4. Watering Water the soil until moisture runs out of the drainage holes. Keep soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. 5. Maintenance Place the pot in an area suited to the plant’s sunlight needs. Add fertilizer after 4–6 weeks if the potting mix does not already contain slow-release nutrients. Top up with fresh potting soil when levels sink. — 🌼 What Potting Soil Is Used For Potting soil is used mainly for: 🌿 1. Growing Plants in Containers Perfect for indoor plants, outdoor potted plants, balcony gardens, and patios. 🌱 2. Seed Germination Provides a clean, soft medium for seeds to sprout easily. 🌸 3.
